The Authentic Pilates Education Australia Teacher Training Program focuses on the traditional classical method of Pilates and is dedicated to Pilates training that honors the integrity of the original method developed by Joseph Pilates.
The training programs are taught by highly qualified Teacher Trainers in the industry.
The three systems seminars (Basic, Intermediate and Advanced) will be delivered within a period of 6 months allowing the students to complete the full course within12 months.
Classical Pilates trained instructors are sought after at studios and fitness facilities worldwide. We will help you reach your full potential poviding you with a thorough teaching training program. Upon completing the APEA Teacher Training Program, you will be qualified to go on to complete your transitional Diploma in Pilates Instruction giving you Government accreditation.
Pre-Pilates and modifications
The Classical Pilates repertoire from Basic to Advanced level on the mat.
Basic to advanced repertoire on the Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector, Small Barrels, Pedi-pull, and all Small Apparatus.
Use and maintenance of the Pilates industry equipment and apparatus

Pre requisites:
35 private sessions taken at the Authentic Pilates Studio or other qualifying studio.
75 private sessions, inclusive of the prerequisite 35 private sessions,are required during the apprenticeship prior to final exam. At least 35 private sessions must be taken at the Authentic Pilates Studio unless otherwise arranged. Privates session will be available at a student rate.

Level 1 Anatomy (Anatomy studies may be taken during the course however must be completed prior to undertaking the advanced level system training.)
Current First Aid Certificate
There are two programs available: Teacher Training Certification and a Bridging Course for people certified through other reputable Pilates organizations who desire certification in Authentic Pilates Education.
The Teacher Certification Program is comprised of four parts:
3 x consecutive 3 day system workshops and the Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction. Apprenticeship of 200 hours for each phase of the course. Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced. Approximately 60hrs - 80hrs to complete the Diploma Of Professional Pilates Instruction.
Part 1: Basic System:
The Basic system focuses upon technical and teaching aspects of all of the apparatus at this level minus the Pedi Pull.
Apparatus includes the Reformer, Wunda chair, Cadillac, Electric Chair, Ladder Barrel, Small Barrels)
Stretching and flexibility repertoire
Modifications for physical limitations
Part 2: Intermediate System:
Intermediate system follows the teaching progression to this level, and outlines the appropriate evolution of the client.

Part 3: Advanced System: Focuses on the Advanced repertoire and breaks down the exercises to adapt for the needs of the client through identifying weaknesses, or injuries, and applying the Method Modifications for physical limitations.
Part 4: Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction (91491NSW).
The Diploma Course is a program specifically tailored to take participants from their existing Authentic Pilates Education Australia Certification ( APEAC) to the government recognized formal qualification of the Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction (91491NSW).
This program fulfills the requirements for completion of the Diploma outcome based on an alignment of the APEA course content to all accredited Diploma course competencies. This program recognizes the training and assessment already provided by APEA.
The usual time frame for completion of the Diploma program is 620 hours. This program enables graduates holding an APEA Certificate to transition their existing training to the Diploma outcome in approximately 60- 80 hours, depending on each participants distance learning completion
Apprenticeship:
The apprenticeship consists of 600 hours logged with a Certified Instructor at a recognized Certification Center or other training center recognized by the APEA .
Levels of Exams: 200 hours-practical, basic question and answer and Anatomy questionnaire 400 hours-practical, intermediate question and answer, written test and anatomy questionnaire 600 hours-practical, advanced question and answer, written test and Anatomy questionnaire and case studies on two new client.

The Bridging Program
The Authentic Pilates Education Australia (APEA) Teacher Training Program recognize and welcomes people certified through other reputable Pilates organizations who desire certification in Authentic Pilates Education.
Every approach is different. The APEA program is repertoire based honouring the classical method of Pilates, bridging candidates will join the basic, intermediate and advanced workshops however apprentice hrs will be modified to suit the individual’s needs, knowledge and work progress. Most bridging candidates will need between 200 to 300hrs before completing the advanced exam.
Where the assessment determines that the candidate applying for the briding program requires more than 300 apprenticeship hours, they will need to apply for full certification.
