AIKI TAISO - testimonials

Aiki Taiso is a type of Japanese mental and physical training which originated in training for martial arts. As well as practising Aiki Taiso for many years Vladimir has read extensively among the literature and knows many exercises so the sessions are never repetitive or boring. Many of the exercises are easy to practise at home and can be fitted in around other activities. As a result of my training with Vladimir over the last 2.5 years I have become much stronger and more flexible.

In addition to the exercises Vladimir has taught us breathing techniques and practical aspects of Aiki Taiso which include how to walk, how to turn, how to sit, how to get out of a chair and how to give yourself a chi massage, things which no one else will tell you.

We do a lot of training of the legs and hips as Aiki Taiso teaches that all movement comes from the hips. Once you’ve trained with Vladimir, kneeling on the floor to eat in a Japanese restaurant is no problem!
Vladimir believes strongly in the benefits of Aiki Taiso and is passionate about teaching it to others. I recommend his sessions to anyone who wishes to improve the strength and flexibility of the whole body as well as learn about a way of life which can provide guidance to many other aspects of your life.

Hi Olga and Vlad!

I’ve finally got 5 minutes to myself to write a quick thank you letter.
Life has been a blur since I left Sydney (about six months ago?). I hit Darwin and had my boat “Odin 11” rigged, ready and sailed to Broome within two weeks!

This years Pearling season was an especially intense one. Fisheries put the quota up then put them up again! Probably doesn’t mean much to you guys but it was like getting a massive pay rise and now that I have my health back I was up for it.

They keep us at sea for the majority of the time in order to catch all the extra shells. It was a long hard season. I spent so much time under water I honestly thought I was growing Gills!

Thanks to you two I was top diver on my boat, clean swept the year winning every heap and pretty well every day. My final score of 19,000 shells is by the biggest catch for me in the 10 years I’ve been drift diving. I can’t remember the last time I ever felt so good!. I’m pretty well pain free and standing straight all the time!

Hopefully my 2 year nightmare is finally over which is great because it was seriously starting to do my head in.

I do my stretches and exercises just about every single day much to the amusement of the boys on the boat. But I’ve been doing them so long now it’s amusing to me to see the new faces down the back deck doing stretching with me!

So even though I probably wasn’t the best student and ended up mucking you around with a few appointments, I really do appreciate everything you both taught me.
